Player that has the ability to play in any position
in the field, but has stood out as left back in his
four seasons with the Islanders. He played for
Club Sporting de San Juan prior to joining the
club in 2004. He has been a vital member of the
Puerto Rican National Team. His most recent
international cap was in the 2008 World Cup
Qualifiers @ Puerto Rico where they got through
the first round with a 1-0 victory over Dominican
Republic.
His outstanding performance in his
first season with the Islanders enabled him to be
rewarded as “2004 Athlete of the Year” by the
Puerto Rican Soccer Federation. In 2005, Rivera
scored the Islanders’ first goal of the season,
being recognized by the USL in the Team of the
Week #2. He spent the month of November
2005 training with Chile’s First Division side
Club Palestino. In 2007 had an outstanding
performance as a left back and returns in 2008
for his 5th season with the PR Islanders. |
